Full of surprises

I have recently been inspired by a new blog Sentimental Sundays. The goal of their challenges is to focus on the beauty of words to compliment the projects. What a lovely idea.

This week they are on their second challenge and the theme is For That Special Someone. I didn’t really have to think for long who I would like to make a card for. I have recently been quite busy with birthday, baby, anniversary etc cards, torturing my lovely hubby to compliment me on all my creations lol ;). So I wanted to make something for him, just like that, for no occasion at all.

Using the sketch from Midnight Madness Anniversary Sketch challenge # 52 I made this card:

It was meant to be a surprise so to make things a bit more exciting I also hid some little surprises in the card itself ;-)! When you open the little doors in the heart there is a hidden message…

To compliment the sentiment I added some keys as embellishments which fitted in with Hels’s challenge at Sunday Stamper # 101 where you need to use a KEY in your artwork.

I (quite rightly!) expected my man to ask me why I made this card so I already had the answer prepared ;-)))

I made this tag for the challenge at City Crafter Challenge Blog #3 Terrific Tag.

[NB. I’m just listening to the Mamma Mia soundtrack, my favorite at the moment. I can still recall our last summer… that’s when we got married ;-) Hmmm…:)) ]

Throughout the card you will see lots of gold and copper embossing and a few glitter accents on my favorite little butterflies, flowers and on the sentiment message. Oh, plus a few little sparkly jewels to spoil my fella (or a subtle hint for him to keep spoiling me ha ha ha!). So I also added this card to the Shabby Tea Room Challenge #8 Get your bling on.

May I say the card was well received and VERY appreciated! Unless I have the most polite spouse in the entire world! Lol ;-)

Ps. I had a little “partner in crime” ;-) My cat Kropek (Polish name for spot/patch) sometimes supervises my crafties. If my artwork is up to his standards he will happily chew my creations up if I turn away for a split second. Artwork no good, he won’t even sniff it. I had to fight with Kropek over the card, that’s how I knew it was ready for presentation…;-P

Hi Joanne, I am just thrilled to have you come out and play with us. I love the whole sentiment challenge..I hardly ever add sentiment...I figure I should keep them plan and then add a saying later for the right occasion. I should get out of the mind frame, because it is not like I don’t have a supply to pick from..LOL..Now to this wonderful card of yours..WOW-ZA that is one beautiful card. Such detail and I am really loving your colors and embellishments. Wonderful vintage feeling to the whole thing..Bravo, one of my faves this week {{clap clap clap}} Ok, here is a heads up and a personal invitation to our PARTY :)
Where: MMSC53 Post
When: Next Tuesday May 11th
