Properly Sentimental...

Yep, this day has finally arrived, hurrrrray! My first challenge at the Sentimental Sundays as a DT member ;-).

And I suggest you get yourself comfy, grab a cuppa, as this is going to be quite a long post…;)

Below is my wedding set project for the challenge. Make sure to visit us soon and most importantly, we would LOVE to see you playing with us!

The theme of the challenge is “New Beginnings”. Please, take a moment to have a look at the DT’s individual blogs for more detail about their gorgeous creations.

As the name indicates, the Sunday project should be sentimental ;-) So when I was creating this project I got PROPERLY sentimental… I’ve created a card and a matching envelope, but I am actually planning on adding some more items to the set so watch this space! lol ;-)

This is a wedding card for a dear friend of mine who is getting married in August. Funnily enough, we met a few years ago when I worked at a summer camp as an English teacher/camp counselor. My friend Ania was one of my pupils ;-) She was then almost 18 years old but somehow I cannot stop thinking about her as “one of my kids” lol and it’s hard to believe she’s “properly” grown up now and is getting married!

As you may have guessed, the wedding is on the 14th Aug (planning ahead in plenty of time lol!) and I decorated some chipboard numbers for the Shabby Team Room challenge #9.

I was also SO thrilled when I found this new stamp recently with the wording adapted from the Psalm 1 Corinthians 13, The Way of Love. We had this Psalm read out in English and Polish when we were getting married last year ;-) This is one of the most beautiful texts about love I have ever read and every time I read it I get SOOOO emotional… I thought this text was PERFECT for the Gingersnap Creations challenge #53 Read.

I have also used a lovely sentiment (you can get these at Whimsy Stamps or we have some awesome freebies with every new challenge at the Sentimental Sundays!) and I again used Tim’s “shabby chic’ed” ornate plate. I learnt this technique from lovely Hels Sheridan’s blog.

I used fabulous K&Co papers which have blue patterns on them, there you go then, something blue for the wedding sorted ;-).

And the big cream flower on the envelope comes from a dismantled flower girls’ posies (dismantled posies not flower girls lol!) from my own wedding ;-) Something old sorted, too!

The project has various gold elements as I am also entering the Sunday Stamper # 102 challenge with a theme “Gold”. And as there are quite a few flower embellies I am adding the project for these two challenges as well: GC51 Botanical and CIC13 - April Showers Bring May Flowers.

I sparkly black embossed the wedding word from the Papermania wedding stamps set. And I used Ranger's distressed inks and paper tearing and distresing technique for a vintage look.

Well, if you are still reading this, I am SOOOO proud of you that you managed till the end of the post lol! Time for another cuppa ;-D

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

xxx

I am also entering the following challenges:
