Edited: Hurray!!! My card has been chosen as Chic of the Week #41 at Just Us Girls ;)) yeeeeeey!!!! ;)))
************************************************************
I can’t believe how quickly this weekend seems to be passing… I suppose time flies when you’re having fun! Well, it’s time for another Sentimental Sundays Challenge ;).
As a reminder, you can create anything you like as long as it matches the theme, your creation is new and it’s got to have a sentiment. As always, there is a free set of digital sentiments for grabs ;-).
This week we are using clear elements on our projects. Here’s what I created as my DT entry:
The process was quite easy. I created the background by “splodgy inks” technique which involves inks and water :). Then I stamped my fav swirly stamp and highlighted it with a white pen.
For inspiration I used the colours from the PDCC #37, in this challenge your colour interpretation is the actual theme, how COOL is that???
And I was also inspired by the theme from CCCB #12 - a summer themed project with colour red. Well, for me, summer is all about butterflies and the lovely riot or colours, especially red. How HOT is that????? ;-))))
I made this card for a colleague who was leaving. She hasn’t decided yet what she wants to do, she hasn’t got a new job or project that she’s working on, she just wanted a change… I find it quite brave and exciting and wish I could do that, too. But both my hubby and my bank manager say it wouldn’t be a good idea since the mortgage somehow doesn’t want to pay for itself rofl ;-)))))
Well, I wanted to make something inspirational ioooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo99999999999999999999Z9 ZL,.Z003B
That above was my cat’s typing…. I thought it was so cute that he wanted to tell you something, too, so I decided to leave it ;)
Anyway… I wanted my card be thoughtful and inspirational so I used one of Raindrop Echo’s sentiments as they compliment cards so beautifully… or the cards compliment the sentiments…? I’ll let you decide. You can find more sentiments by Raindrop Echo at Whimsy store ;0).
My clear element is the butterfly ;). I first used my Slice to outline the butterfly shape on a piece of acetate (Slice won’t cut through acetate). I haven’t got a butterfly shape die so I had to cut it myself. It was still good to have the shape outlined this way as opposed to using a pen to draw on acetate, as you have no marks afterwards ;).
Then I coloured the shape with Stazon inks and run it through my Cuttlebug through a swirly embossing folder to match the swirly stamp and done!
My card was a top HOT topic during my friend’s leaving do ;-))))).
I hope you can join us this week at Sentimental Sundays. And don't forget to check out the creations made by my DT Sentimental Sisters as they created real beauties and wonderful eye candy this week!

This project certainly does not LOOK simple!.Absolutely wonderful colours. The design is just perfect, fabulous card! Just to think you hand cut the acetate, I had enough trouble trying to score the stuff. Mighty woman, you!
