Under the sea...

Re-edited: Hurray!!! This canvas has made the Top Three at Let's Ink It Up #1 challenge ;-))

Hello Peeps!

I need to catch up on my posting so here’s another project I thought I would share with you.

This is a canvas that I made as a pressie for my hubby as he loves anything nautical…;). I was gearing up for it for a long time, secretly collecting various bits and bobs to decorate my canvas with… That’s where charity shops come really handy ;) The small shells come from a necklace I found there a while ago and can you see the metal ship’s wheel embellishment? That’s actually an ear ring – same location ;-)))).

And the anchor buttons – the same! Lol ;)))

The background was done with spray inks, shimmer mists and paint dabbers. Then I stamped lots of swirls for waves and white embossed cob-webby patterns for a foamy effect of a rough sea… I also used my new stencils to create the sun and the small bird feet on the sand…

I wanted my sand to look a bit more realistic so I stuck with Glossy Accents some tiny microscopic beads that are used for nail art. Now, if you are a girl, I am sure you’ll now exactly what nail art I am talking about. For all boys out there, we are talking about finger nails, not screws and nails ones… Some time ago, when I mentioned to my hubby that I wanted to go on a “nail art” course, he waited about a week before he felt brave enough to ask…why would anyone want to do a “nail art” course…???? You get my meaning???? Lol ;))

Thanks for visiting and warmest hugs to those letting me know you’ve been here…;)

I would like to enter this canvas into the following challenges:
Sunday Stamper #118 - Secret stuff (I was secretly collecting the embellies for my canvas)
Let's Ink it up #1 - Anything goes with a yellow twist
Stampin for the weekend #45 - Anything goes
The Shabby Tea Room #24 - A little bit of metal
Everybody Art Challenge #105 - Sea/Beach

Gorgeous canvas, love all your embellishments, what great finds and very inventive using earrings too. Just lovely. Whilst I am here, you asked how I coloured the backgrounds on my houses, I used DI inks directly to card. Have a good evening, Tracy Evans x
