LIIU #4 DT - Getting into the Halloween spirit...

First of all, I've got some really exciting news that I have been dying to share!!! :) I have been invited to join the absolutely amazing and super talented Design Team for Let's Ink It Up Challenge Blog and this is my first DT creation ;D.

In this challenge we would like you to create a project using Halloween colours but it doesn't have to be a Halloween creation. One important thing to remember - traditional, old fashion stamping only and no digis, so get ready to get your fingers inky! LOL ;)).

Now onto my card....

It was quite a challenge for me as I don't have that much practice in the Halloween celebration stuff... But once I had the idea in my head...! ;). This was a great opportunity to try out some of my new Tim Holtz stamps so my card came out quite...winged :) Lots of wings to look at!

The background was sponged with orange, yellow and purple distress inks and the edge was stamped and embossed with a black glittery embossing powder. And to add more of a "dark" feel to it I machine sew a spider web, which I think came out quite nicely lol!

Now, the more inquisitive viewers may ask where the commonly expected inhabitant of the web is... Well, let me tell you a secret. Under NO circumstances would I ever stay in one room with a spider (my DH usually takes care of the intruders for me, my Knight in the Shining Armour lol!) therefore there is no reason for any 8 legged creepy crawlies to be invading my card.... So I threw in a few grunge paper butterflies for a good measure, glammed them up a bit with some sparklies et voilà! In real, the colours are much sharper and more contrasting but I couldn't get my camera to cooperate fully...

This week's challenge is sponsored by Bizzy Becs and you could be the winner of the Goodie Package valued at $15.00 (which will be made up to suit winners taste).

Bizzy Becs sells a wide variety of products that suit all cardmakers. Gorgeous rubber stamps, including Bizzy Becs Stamps, Magnolia, Bildmalarna, Whiff of Joy to name but a few, Copics, Spellbinders, Cuttlebug and lots of embellishments and other yummy goodies ;).

Don't forget to check out what other DT girls have created for this week's challenge, the projects are absolutely amazing! I am really looking forward to be a part of this fantastic Team! ;-)

Hope you can join us this week at Let's Ink It Up! This weekend has been very sad and emotional as we've had some really devastating news but I hope you my blogging Friends have a lovely weekend... Thanks for visiting.

I would also like to enter this card into the following:
