At Let’s Ink It Up we are celebrating December with the most suitable theme – Christmas!!!! And we are twisting it a bit with lots of bling and sparkle! Yeeeey, only 21 sleeps to Santa! Or 20 if you are Polish as Polis people get to open their pressies on Christmas Eve ;)))
As LIIU Team is having a short break over Christmas period, this challenge will only run for TWO WEEKS. But we are convinced that you will still have plenty of time and Christmas ideas to join us for this challenge. We will be back for our next challenge on 9th January 2011.
Here a short info about the lovely prizes from our lovely sponsors that some lovely winner will enjoy just in time for Christmas ;).
Jewel It Kit for $20 sponsored by Outline Rubber Stamps.
Outlines offers a unique style that sets them apart from other stamp companies. They are probably best known for designing stamps that lend themselves beautifully to cutting and layering, which has become one of Outlines’ signature styles.
The second prize is this great Christmas Ribbon Selection box donated by Crafty Ribbons.
For this challenge I altered an old flower pot and I am going to use it as a home for a poinsettia plant that will decorate my Christmas table.
My colour theme is based on three colours, white, dark metallic pink and purple. The pot was first coated with 2 layers of gesso and a acrylic paint dabber then I stamped lots of snowflakes using a combination of permanent and distress inks.
The stamped images were coated with transparent crackle paint. Painting the crackle over distress ink snowflakes allows you to create a slightly “washed out” effect. I call it a “melting snowflake effect” ;). Then I worked some purple distress inks into the crakle to make them pop.
A few light sprays of the purple cosmic shimmer mist later the pot was dressed up with a “necklace” of white and purple raffia and crystals ribbon trim, sprinkled it with lots of punched and glittered snowflakes and coordinating flowers. How’s that for a bling.
Psst...Just to let you in on a little secret we are also having our very first BLOG HOP beginning 9th January 2011, hope to see you joining us then, too!
I have been quite busy with making Christmas cards and decorations and if I get a moment I may even share a couple of things with you ;). Now I’m off to get ready for my work Christmas do which is going to take place in here….:
That's Blenheim Palace in Woodstock - how gorgeous is this place!
You would never believe how dramatic my preparations for this evening have been so far and you never know, maybe I will even share them with you a bit later..;)
Hope everyone is having a jolly good weekend! Apologies for neglecting my visits to your lovely blogs recently, promise to catch up on that soon!

Hope you enjoy your Christmas party. Blenheim is a most beautiful place - I took Lou there for her 21st Birthday - we bought her a new camera and spent the whole day taking photos around the palace and grounds until the battery (and the spare) ran out!
