For some reason I had a bit of a problem starting this post, couldn’t think of anything clever or funny to begin with... So no introducation this time, I hope you don’t mind J.
I wasn’t able to prepare anything for this week’s Sentimental Sundays challenge so will just let you know that this week’s theme is “winter” J.
But I have something else to share with you.
I made this card for my boss’s birthday. I definately wanted to make a “winged” card as there is a story... I suppose, there’s always a story in everything, isn’t there? ;P

I made this card for my boss’s birthday. I definately wanted to make a “winged” card as there is a story... I suppose, there’s always a story in everything, isn’t there? ;P
Recently my boss was having a conversation with one of our suppliers, who was letting us know they were going on holiday. My boss, being a sweetie and such polite lady, asked which airport they were flying from. And all of a sudden we all heard this really excited squeal: Gatwick??? Oh, that’s my favourite airport!!! It was so funny the way it was said, that I am sure this story will be relived in our office forever J. And this has given us an idea for a perfect birthday present. But I can’t tell you what it is yet, you’ll have to wait a little lol ;)))
So onto my winged card...
As I always try to match my cards with the personality of the recipient, I wanted the card to be quite cute and girly but without being overly pink, if you know what I mean. And when I saw this week’s PDCC colour choice, I knew it was perfect for my card.
I love the soft teal or duck egg blues against the cafe au lait browns (which is why our guest bedroom has got this colour scheme lol). And the grey and silver accents seem to be just right.
The butterly was cut using MM Slice a from light brown card and Tim Holtz’s shabby chic paper. Then I stamped some flourishes on the butterfly and the background papers (K&Co and free papers from Scrapbook Magazine). To embellish my butterfly I used my recent most fav thing - the sequins that my DH has bought me ;))) I love the way it feels when you gently swipe it with the tips pf your fingers...
Then I added some doily borders punchedfrom the light brown and grey card using MS punch. The lovely flower has a flock texture and was cut out from a wall paper ;).

The ribbon was made from the sashes we decorated the church with during our wedding ;). The pin is a DYI product using a random selection of beads.
