Sentimentally focused...- Sentimental Sundays #47

This week's challenge is all about sentiments... just as well, since it's a very sentimental challenge! ;)

As this week the sentiment should be the main focus of your project, I won't say this time - don't forget to add a sentiment lol ;)

I wanted to challenge myself in a new way. I don't normally do sketches, they scare me ;), somehow I feel that they usually limit my creativity rather than help... (the truth is I'm just not disciplined enough to follow them lol ;P). But I thought I would give it a go and the Sweet Stop sketch looked "inviting" enough to try...:)

I really enjoyed making this card. I finally had a chance to use this cool chipboard heart from my lovely candy I got from Hels some time ago (thanks again, hun!). By the way, Hels's new Sunday Stampers challenge is just to die for! ;)

I coloured the shapes with acrylics matching the fabulous spring colour palette from JUGS #76.

Then stamped the text stamp (I heat embossed it so it didn't "melt" under the cracle), distressed it with Walnut Stain DI and played with Viva's transparent crackle paint. I love the way it turned out. Depending on the angle, the heart either looks very aged or very sparkly ;).

The shape was quite big so I had to chop a few flowers off. I used them as accent embellishments, painted and distressed as before but instead of adding the crackle, they've been treated with Stickles and gems ;). The flourishes have been stamped with Walnut Stain DI.

The papers I used are DCWV Mariposa and K&Co, they were distressed and then machine sewn. This fabulous sentiment is from the Chew Cute set by Raindrop Echo. BTW, pop over to the challenge blog to get this week's freebie sentiments and to Whimsy Stamps to browse Ann's whole collection of fabulous word art!

As you can see I am still loving' the spring theme and the colours... And I think Kropek is enjoying the spring, too... He's got a new friend ;P. Caught them red handed (or red pawed????), enjoying the sun and each other's company! ;))

Make sure to see the inspiration from the rest of DT, the projects this week are outstanding!

Lots of weekend hugs! Thank you for visiting ;)

A really lovely creation, Joanna. I like the use of those pearl-topped dressmaker's pins. I often use them too.
They just add an extra texture, don't they?
