Spicing it up for Sentimental Sundays #57 - Sentimental anything but a card...

You'll be glad to know that I have finally finished painting and have now officially moved back into my Craft Room! Yeeeeeey! ;-) Still trying to take some presentable pictures that show the colours well, no point having waffled so much about what colour to choose blah blah bah and then not being able to show it to you lol!

One thing that I have not envisaged when I took on the project of "revamping" the Craft Room was that my mojo was going to immediately go AWOL ;( After a very in-depth psychoanalysis of these utterly concerning behvioural problems, I realised that this was a direct result of a hidden fear of spoiling my gorgeous room with ink splatters, paint blobs, scratches, scuffs etc...Grr!!!! LOL ;))) Only because I could not bear having to paint it again! Or at least not in a near future... Well, at least not in the same week...Enough said! ;)

So to break the uncreative spell I needed to do something... so I started with altering (or recycling???) an old spice rack that with a lick of paint would get a new life and should look lovely in my new room... This project fits perfectly our new Anything but a Card challenge at Sentimental Sundays ;)

The spice rack was first painted with emulsion paints - I've got LOADS of tester pots left lol ;) and I'm now trying to find as many uses for them as possible ;). The stamps were inked with Sepia Archival and Brown Timber StazOn, stamps used - Stempelglede Grunge Flowers, Darkroom Door Prague vol 2 and Tim Holtz and the Crafty Individuals crackle was stamped with paint.

The sides of the spice rack were covered with a tissue tape - first crumpled and distressed with Colour Wash and distress inks and then randomly stamped, which is a new technique for me. To finish it I sprayed the tissue paper with gold Cosmic Shimmer Mist.

And here is the fruit of my efforts with its new inhabitants ;)

I know, I know, what was the point of decorating it, if it's all going to get covered anyway lol ;) Well, that's the thought that counts!

We also have a big announcement at Sentimental Sundays - our sentimental family is growing!!! ;) To see the names of all new DT members please visit our challenge.

I hope you can join us for the new challenge. Have a lovely Sunday! ;) Thank you for visiting and for your sweet comments ;))

WOYWW #101

Crickey, I have never joined in WOYWW before...but always wanted to! Not much goining on my workdesk at the moment actually as I have just started redecorating my craft room ;)

So what I am working on, very hard, is deciding what colour to paint the walls with! ;) It just seems impossible for me to stick to one decision...;(

Anyway, this is my craft room "before". Sometime this year, or century, I hope to be able to share a photo "and after"...;)

Still lots of catching up in commenting and visiting to do... if I haven't visited you yet, I will soon!

Big hugs

Anything goes at Sentimental Sundays #54...

Wooo hooo!!! My card has been chosen Top 3 at Send a Smile 4 Kids May Challenge ;-)) Yeeey!!!

I'm back!!! From Poland and in blogland, that is ;)). Poland was lovely and sunny. We were very lucky with the weather, the moment we left my home town had a really heavy snow fall which caused a total chaos...! snowing in May, whatever next??

Appart from the hairdresser not showing up, me having to come up with a presentable hair do for for my niece in 20 mins, me having to run back to the house in my heels to get the special candle my S-I-L was convinced wasn't required until the afternoon service, my niece's First Holy Communion went with no trouble at all! lol ;)

The "official pictures" haven't been released yet so here's one of the "unofficial" ones...:)

I still can't believe that the hairdresser didn't even have the courtesy to phone to say she wasn't coming... poor child (my niece that is) was very upset, as if the occassion itself wasn't bringing enough emotions for that little heart of hers... Mind you. In my days, back in 18th century or so, you had to sleep wearing hair rollers. They made those lovely deep waves in your hair as well as your head, awwww... those were the days!

Where was I... Yes, right, it's an "Anything goes" week at Sentimental Sundays. We want to see whatever your heart desires! As long as it's a piece of art and has a sentiment on it ;)).

I promised to show you the card I made for my niece's Big Day. So here is goes ;).

I was inspired by the work of Agnieszka - I have recently come across her blog, it's really lovely.

I also made a little keepsake album for a few favourite pictures from the day and a box to match the set. I will share it soon!

Well, if you fancy some fabulous sentiments by Raindrop Echo, either this week's freebies or the winner's prize, head over to the challenge blog and join in the fun! And if you enjoy our challenges as much as we do, why don't you take part in our DT call? For further deets click here.

Sentimental Sundays are also celebrating the first anniversary! I can't believe it's been a year already, time flies! ;)

To celebrate the anniversary, you will have several chances to win a digital sentiment of your choice from Raindrop Echo Designs Whimsy Stamps Digital Collection. All you have to do is visit the participating DT members' blogs and leave a comment on their Sentimental Sundays post for this week. That means that if you visit leave a comment for Ann E, Ceal, Cheryl, Joanna (that's me!), Lisa, Melissa, Nicole, Shirley, Tameko and Tracey, you will get a chance to win one digital sentiment set! ;).

I also promise to visit you soon as I have neglected my lovely blogland Friends whilst I was away... Have a lovely Sunday and thank you for lasting until the end of the post...lol ;).

Big hugs

Let's get Sentimental for Mother's Day! - #53

Re-edited: Yeepie!!!! The City Crafter Challenge spotlight is shinning brightly at my card !!! And my card has been featured as the top 3 at the Stampsmith Challenge ;)))

What a challenge we have at Sentimental Sundays this week!

The theme is "Mother's day or for a woman" We also have an optional fun challenge - crafting with kids ;).

We have two challenge sponsors this week. First, is the talented Deedee Anderson of Deedee's Digis. The winner will receive a $10 gift certificate to spend in the Deedee's Digis store.

Our second sponsor is the marvelous Ann Vento of Raindrop Echo Designs. The prize will be four individual sentiment sets from the Raindrop Echo Designs Whimsy Stamps Digital Collection.

This is the card I made for this challenge. This wasn't actually for my Mum - it was my first ever commissioned card ;)).

I was inspired by fabulous work of Suzanne C - you can see her beautiful creations here.

The stamp is Stampendous Ranunculus Field, shabby papers by Tim Holtz and the sentiment is by Raindrop Echo.

When you are reading this (Blogger gremlins and my scheduling skills permitting, lol!) I will be in Poland, visiting my family for my older niece's First Holly Communion (I will post the card I've made for this occasion soon).

And as I don't have any children of my own yet I am intending on doing some crafties with my little nieces instead, to be able to take part in our extra challenge lol ;) I hope to be able to post some pictures of our creations later on, though!

I hope you can join us for this week's challenge and I can't wait to see your fab creations jointly made with the little ones. I'm sure that will be lots of fun!

Make sure to also check what our DT have prepared for you this week - there are some fabulous projects waiting there!

Big hugs from Poland...:)))
