Spicing it up for Sentimental Sundays #57 - Sentimental anything but a card...

You'll be glad to know that I have finally finished painting and have now officially moved back into my Craft Room! Yeeeeeey! ;-) Still trying to take some presentable pictures that show the colours well, no point having waffled so much about what colour to choose blah blah bah and then not being able to show it to you lol!

One thing that I have not envisaged when I took on the project of "revamping" the Craft Room was that my mojo was going to immediately go AWOL ;( After a very in-depth psychoanalysis of these utterly concerning behvioural problems, I realised that this was a direct result of a hidden fear of spoiling my gorgeous room with ink splatters, paint blobs, scratches, scuffs etc...Grr!!!! LOL ;))) Only because I could not bear having to paint it again! Or at least not in a near future... Well, at least not in the same week...Enough said! ;)

So to break the uncreative spell I needed to do something... so I started with altering (or recycling???) an old spice rack that with a lick of paint would get a new life and should look lovely in my new room... This project fits perfectly our new Anything but a Card challenge at Sentimental Sundays ;)

The spice rack was first painted with emulsion paints - I've got LOADS of tester pots left lol ;) and I'm now trying to find as many uses for them as possible ;). The stamps were inked with Sepia Archival and Brown Timber StazOn, stamps used - Stempelglede Grunge Flowers, Darkroom Door Prague vol 2 and Tim Holtz and the Crafty Individuals crackle was stamped with paint.

The sides of the spice rack were covered with a tissue tape - first crumpled and distressed with Colour Wash and distress inks and then randomly stamped, which is a new technique for me. To finish it I sprayed the tissue paper with gold Cosmic Shimmer Mist.

And here is the fruit of my efforts with its new inhabitants ;)

I know, I know, what was the point of decorating it, if it's all going to get covered anyway lol ;) Well, that's the thought that counts!

We also have a big announcement at Sentimental Sundays - our sentimental family is growing!!! ;) To see the names of all new DT members please visit our challenge.

I hope you can join us for the new challenge. Have a lovely Sunday! ;) Thank you for visiting and for your sweet comments ;))

Fabulous way to repurpose this spice rack. I've got one too but sadly it's just painted. It's nearly as fun as yours. Thanks for joining us at Dream Valley Challenges.
