And I have also been chosen as one of the top picks at the Stamp Man Challenge #28!! ;))) Wooo hooo!!!!
Wooo hooo!!! Exciting or what????
A group of friends, heart broken after the closing down of Let's Ink It Up (Suzanne, sending lots of hugs and warm thoughts your way!) gathered forces and under Shirl's command, have created a new FABULOUS challenge blog!!!
Ladies and gentlemen, let me present you with.....
Drum roll please....
Each challenge will be sponsored by Marina from Cottage Crafts. And in the spirit of the old LIIU challenge, this fortnightly challenge is also for traditional stamping only - no digi stamps are allowed!
Now, please meet the fabulous Design Team:
As at the moment (due to those nasty life turbulences grrrr!) I would not be able to participate in each challenge, I have received this fancy title of the Resident Guest Designer! How cool is that??? I even have my own badge!!!! Lol ;-))
Our first challenge is ANYTHING GOES!!! So go on, pop over to the challenge blog - no excuse not to join in! lol ;) Make sue you become a follower too, as there will be lots of lovely suprises in the future for our loyal followers!
Now on to my project for this challenge...
This idea just suddenly popped into my head... I wanted to create a project with a theme of...
Time flies....
But not just the regular Tempus fugit approach, though! I wanted to have a little play with words, too ;).
Did you notice the flies??? (don't tell anyone but these are actually stamped bees, I don't have any stamps of flies so had to improvise lol!). So: time + flies = time flies lol ;-D. It made me and my DH chuckle, hopefully it will make you giggle, too!
The background was made using wrinkle free distress technique with Fired Brick, Tea Dye and Mustard Seed. I need to practice this a bit more as the colours blended in too much for my liking... The background was stamped with Fired Brick DI with a selection of clock stamps, highlighted with white and bronze pen in places and then all was sprayed with Gold Cosmic Shimmer Mist (I just love this stuff!).
The Tim Holtz clock die was cut from cardboard and then painted with gold and copper acrylic paints. The border was stamped with Tempus fugit Craft Stamper free stamp, with some faux stitching doodling.
Well, that's it my friends! Please spread the word about the new challenge and most importantly - play along with us this week! But please remember - traditional stamping only!
I am really looking forward to working with all my new/old DT Sisters again and as always I am truly amazed by the wealth of talent there! And if you'd like to join this fabulous team, we're having a DT call, too!
Ps. In case you missed my previous post for Sentimental Sundays please click here.
Have a fabulous Sunday!!!
Big hugs
