Yeeeeeey!!! My tag has been featured on the Stampsmith Challenge blog!!!
I can see it... I can see it in the trees, I can smell it in the air... the golden whisper of the wind announcing the arrival of autumn before too long...
And autumn is this week's theme at the Sentimental Sundays... This challenge is quite sentimental for me as it is the last time I will be taking part as a Design Team member... Sadly, with all those horrible turbulences and stuff, I had to make this difficult decision to step down from the Team...:(( Sometimes, with too many things going on it's difficult to stay focused and not lose track... hence difficult choices have to be made...:((
I'd like to thank Raindrop Echo Ann for letting me be part of this fabulous Team and all the girls for being so lovely and so inspirational! I will really really miss you all!
I don't normally combine DT projects and I really wanted to take part in both challenges but wasn't able to create two separate samples.
So here is the second challenge...
At Fashionable Stamping Challenges we'd like you to show off your beautiful traditional (no digis!) stamping on a tag :).
My tag is very much inspired by Hels Sheridan's art. Firstly, I put into (a good?) use my brand new melting pot (a birthday pressie from my lovely F-I-L - thank you!!! - bought in a lovely craft shop in Eastbourne "That Craft Place") to create this gorgeous faux porcelain flower and leaves. I learnt this technique recently at the workshop with Hels at the Stamp Attic but you can also see Hels's tutorial here ;).
The tag and the flower were first coloured with distress stains and distress inks over a super cool mask with numbers ;). Then all covered with lots of stamping with text and numbers (Dina Wakley, Tim Holtz and Prima). The tag received a generous amount of gold cosmic shimmer mist and I heat embossed in gold three butterflies (Crafty Individuals). It's difficult to show on the picture but I just LOVE how the butterflies give the additional subtle sparkle against the shimmery tag...
The sentiment was stamped and covered with Glossy Accents and the frame was cut with Tim Holtz Tags die. The flower was made with Tattered Florals die.
The seam binding ribbon was coloured with distress stains.
I hope you can join both challenges and don't forget to check the DT samples... trust me, they are absolutely STUNNING!!!
Ps. Apologies for being so quiet lately and not saying "hello" as often... Promise to catch up on visiting and some lovely comments as soon as get a chance to...!
Have a lovely Sunday!
