Hello Steampunk baby

Did you know you only have a few days left to join the Fashionable Stamping Challenge? The current theme is 'Alter Something' and I must say, my DT Sisters have really excelled themselves so you must, must, must have a look at their outstanding projects!

I've recently been asked to make a super lush baby boy card. And I thought to myself...oh boy! Some time ago I decided that I don't do 'cute' so how do I tackle this...???

I decided on a completely different approach ;)). For my project I used a Cling Clock Works stamp from Stampendous - a stamp I would normal associate with a Steampunk project. But with a few lovely embellishments and a touch of sparkle the card got a much softer feel to it ;).

I started off with altering an old chocolate box, first painted with Vintage Lace Fresco paint, then covered in patterned papers. Then I stamped the Clock Works stamp on velum and heat embossed it with white and aqua embossing powders. Then I cut it to size an adhered to the inside of the box.

The card is an easel card that is A4 size long... As I can't live without a little Fran-tage here and there I added some Fran-tage here and there... with Stampendous shabby white and shabby blue embossing enamelsThese fabulous die cut elements are Marianne Designs - cuuuuute!!!!!!

Unfortunately the set didn't really fit in my light tent lol and since I had to part with the set the following morning I didn't get a chance to take better pictures. But I hope you get an idea ;).

So what do you think? What images have you used in your art in an unusual way that you wouldn't normally do for the occasion?

Thank you for popping in and your sweet comments!

Ps. In case you've missed my last post, I've just finished reading a great novel (with a crafty element to it) that is now looking for a new home. Hop over to here and let me know if you'd like me to put your name in the hat!

Big hugs

Just divine Joanna and I would never associate it with steampunk.

Such a clever idea for a baby card. So much nicer than the boring cutesy ones you get (whispers) in the shops! Hugs, Buttons x
