Just for Dad

Hello everyone. Hope you are still enjoying a few last moments of the weekend ;)

Just a quick card I wanted to share with you before it goes in the post ;-) A Father’s Day card for my Father in Law. My Dad passed away a few years ago ;( so only one Father’s Day card to show…

I got really emotional when I made this card. And the sentiment really says it all…

I again used a sketch from One Stop Craft Challenge #84. I just love this sketch, it really works for me. I’m sure I will be using it lots and lots! Lol ;)

The papers I used are K&Co, mixed with cork scrabble like letters (my F-I-L looooves scrabble!) resting cosily in the TH ornate plate, lots of TH distress inks, machine stitching (my fav technique at the moment, just can't live without my new sewing machine!), some screws brads and a couple of real sprockets from a clock bought in a flea market (exactly for that purpose lol!).

The quote sentiment was designed by Raindrop Echo for Whimsy stamps. And the “Father’s Day” image is a courtesy of Cathe Holden at Just Something I Made. I discovered this blog recently and highly recommend, it’s fantastic! It’s full of lovely vintage images ready to download ;-)))). Make sure you have a look at Cathe’s DIY projects, it’s full of really great ideas!

Totally Gorjuss #34 - For the boys
The Shabby Tea Room #13 – Just For Dad

This is one of the very best Father's Day cards I have seen this year ! A lot of women have issues with making masculine cards, but I see you have not. Just love the whole thing.

Wonderful Father's Day card. I lost my dad at 19 so I understand the feeling. It's still bittersweet if I make a FD card for my brother or DH etc. Thanks for getting digi with JUGS this week.

This is a wonderful tribute to your FIL. I love the vintagey pieces. I bet Tim Holtz would love that you used his hardware in such a cool way...and to honor such a special person. I lost my dad this year and I agree, the best way to remember your own dad is to honor another great dad you know and admire.
