SentiMENtal Sundays #12 - DT creation

Hello my Blogging Friends!

Today is a VERY SPECIAL Sunday to me. Not only because it’s time for another Sentimental Sundays Challenge, with a very free freebie and fantastic DT creations ;), but also because…

…today, it's my (or ours shall I say!) First Wedding Anniversary and I am getting Properly Sentimental again ;-))).

This is us, exactly 365 days ago (I can't believe how quickly it's gone...):

The theme this week is “For men”. What better way to celebrate this week's theme than to share with you the anniversary card I made for my wonderful Hubby, who BTW is my BF (Bestest Friend) and the BHiEW (Bestest Hubby in the Entire World)!

Having made a few masculine cards recently I really wanted to “break the trend” a bit and decided to use some.... flower accents ;). My hubby loves flowers, and they love him back! Probably because he remembers to water them lol! ;) So I wanted to make a statement today – “It’s OK to say it with flowers!” ;-)))).

Obviously I still wanted the card to look quite masculine so I kept the toned colour palette and stayed with browns, white and grey. My main paper, believe it or not, is a spare scrap of wall paper lol (that’s what I call crafty recycling, double lol ;p ). Then I used some white cardstock and run it through the Forest Branches CB embossing folder, added a paper doily, my cute scrapbook like letters and a few machine stitches later, the card was ready.

Ah, I forgot. I also reused the ribbon from a luscious box of choccies we received recently…. Yummy! The choccies I mean, not the ribbon ;).

The fabulous sentiment I used is of course by Raindrop Echo for Whimsy Stamps.

Make sure to check out the other DT girls’ fab creations, join us for this week’s challenge and... have a lovely Sunday! I'm off to focus all my attention today on my gorgeous spouse! ;)

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Stamp Something – Something digital
Paper Romance #7 – Stitching it up
AiFactory #44 – Flower frenzy
Theme Thursday - Something Round

Hugs to everyone,

I love this card,Joanna, you have incorporated so many elements into it ----- truly scrumptious. It has always been my thoght that men do LOVE flowers, and masculine cards don't have to exclude them.
Love all the layers and the 'Scrabble' letters... stunning, should win lots of awards
