Sentimental Sundays #21 - Wedding DT Belles ;)

Re-edited: Woo hoo! This project has been chosen as one of the Ginger Gems at Gingersnap Creations #70 ;-))))

Hello my blogging Friends!

This post will be rather short (as my posts go lol!) because my Writing Muse has gone AWOL recently…. But don't worry, I will top it up with some piccies ;))).

This week’s theme at the Sentimental Sundays is “Wedding”. The girls have done such beautiful wedding projects, make sure you pop over to the challenge blog to so them. And don't forget to grab a set of Ann's free sentiments, this week the sentiments have been chosen by me! ;)))

My inspiration for this project was the Shabby Tea Room Challenge theme this week, to use green and/or be inspired by nature. I am very much into leaves and handmade flowers at the moment so this project has given me an opportunity to go wild with it!

The background paper was sponged with chalk ink, stamped with my favourite delicate swirls and then I used a distressed ink for the leaves stamps. I also added a layer of a handmade (not by me through lol!) green paper layered with leaves.

The roses were made with organza fabric. I also added a couple of skeleton leaves. The white ribbon was cut using a Martha Stewart doily lace punch. All ribbons and trims were machine stitched with black thread for contrast.

The sentiment is by Raindrop Echo for Whimsy Stamps and was cut using the Nestabilities label die.

For the inside of the card I created a similar background and I also used a Tim Holtz flourish mask.

As my card is quite hmmm… dimensional ;) I realised that I would need a box rather than an envelope so later this evening I created a matching “wrapping” for my card ;) and here’s the fruit of my efforts:

I have recently found somewhere this little bell so I hang it on a ribbon to create a little charm for the box.

Here, the card and the box together:

Happy Sunday everyone and many thanks for visiting. It really means a lot!

I wouldn't worry about your writing muse being AWOL - with images like that she's redundant!

Stunning card, I love the fresh colour combination, I love green too and anything nature inspired and this piece is all of those. Your flowers are absolutely gorgeous and such a great idea making a co-ordinated box. A lot of work has gone into these pieces and the recipient will be delighted, something to treasure. Joanna, this is completely gorgeous! Not only did you do a beautiful job with the CCC masking technique, you created a truly spectacular card with it! The color palette is wonderful and fresh, and those flowers are absolutely stunning. It's obvious that you put a great deal of thought into every little embellishment, and they're all perfectly chosen and arranged.

The box is just amazing, too! What an incredible set!

Hi Joanna, thank you for remembering my daughter, Laura's birthday, she loved the card and said "she loves those people" LOL meaning the Stampotique characters. She spent ages looking at it, makes it so worthwhile making it when someone really appreciates it. Tracy xx
