Time flies....when you're having fun! - LIIU #8 DT

Re-edited: Wooo hooo! My canvas has been awarded a Top 3 award at the Delicious Doodles challenge ;)))!

How's everyone doing in the New Year? :)

All girls at Let's Ink It Up are great and we greeted the New Year in great style! New year, new look, you see. Have a look in here for the full details of the new challenge and to see the new FABULOUS look!

And the new challenge is ANYTHING GOES! To get your creative juices going strong, we are starting with any kind of project or theme you like as long as it beautifully displays the traditional hand stamping ;).

And you may remember that we have recently had a fab swap at LIIU. It did so well that Suzanne thought of a perfect way to keep it going. Make sure you check it out -  for Let's Ink It Up Swaps click here.

Our fab sponsor for this challenge is Make It Crafty and Zoe's prize package is the winner's choice of one rubber stamp ;).

So onto my project for this challenge...

My DH often takes the mickey out of me that my craft room is like a black hole, the time seems to stop there... It's light years before I re-appear from my den whilst I am convinced it's only been an hour! And when I saw the inspiration photo at Raise the bar, I knew that was it!
I created this canvas for him as my "revenge" ;). He's recently got himself this fancy new shed (mostly because he's been evicted from the study that got turned into my craft room...lol) and this shed has become his little sanctuary ;). And when he works on a project in there, he's usually gone for hours...lol ;). So I just wanted to make a little point - time flies....when you're having fun! rofl ;))

My canvas has been generously treated with Terra (this is my first "independent" project using Terra), stamped with watch cogs, sequin waste and bottle caps, then painted with gold, copper and bronze acrylic paints, finally the raised bits were highlighted with Pistachio Precious Metal and blue paint dabber. The clock is by 7Gypsies and was stamped onto metal and finished with Ten Seconds Studio tools. The TH wings were stamped and copper embossed onto grunge paper.

Then I sprinkled a handful of my new obsession ;) sequins in various shapes (my lovely hubby has got me 4 packets of sequins in a local discount shop, just to see if I like them... They cost next to nothing and are absolutely fab!!!). I also added a chain and hung a clock cog thinggy to create a charm.

Make sure to check what the other DT girls have created for this challenge, the inspiration is just amazing!

Thank you so much for visiting and your lovely comments. Being away and still having problems with my hand ;(, I have neglected my blogging friends a bit (sorry!) but I promise to try to catch up on visiting your lovely blogs very soon...! ;)

Terra is quite an interesting product, don't you think?...a very good base for a canvas project and gives so much texture. I think your hubby will love it and hang it on the wall in his shed, maybe; although it deserves a more prominent place. What does he do in his shed???
LOvely piece of work, Joanna!!

Wow - I don't do mixed media, but I know talent when I see it. This is gorgeous. It's too bad you didn't get the Feline Playful link in time, there are lots of people that would enjoy your blog. We have things in common. Practical Magic is also one of my favorite movies, adore Harry Potter and I'm a huge Make it Crafty fan. I think Zoe is amazing. Thanks for the trip to my blog, I'll be keeping an eye on yours. C2
