Can you feel it yet??? I can! Spring is in the air!!! Or is it just my wishful thinking? lol ;)
Anyway, I immediately thought of spring when I saw this week's Sentimental challenge theme which is green/recycling. You can of course interpret it whichever way you like it, focus on "being green" and promote recycling or keep the green palette on your project. But don't forget to include a sentiment!
As for me, I love when nature "springs" back to life from the wintery snooziness with fresh, "juicy" shades of green and all the other spring colours, with flowers soaking up the sun, early bees buzzing around looking for a fresh flower juice...;) It makes me feel so...alive!
And since I haven't been very much "alive" recently I really wanted to create something that would cheer me up a bit and to bring my mojo back... Not sure about the mojo bit ;) but this piece has certainly cheered me up!
My project is full of recycled items, like a card from a used notebook or a corrugated cardboard from a recent delivery, or a copper wire from my hubby's tool box (does that count as recycling???). I even saved a pink paperclip from someone's recent letter ;).
The corrugated frame and flowers were painted with white, lemon and pink acrylic paints and a custom made colour wash (mix of white acrylic paint and dark green colourwash spray ink, a new technique I learnt recently at the ArtsyCrafts).
The stamps I used are Aspects of Design (Bee Botanical) and PaperArtsy, the newest additions to my stash and the sentiment is by Tim Holtz. Images have been subtly coloured with brush markers, finished with touches of Stickles and gold Glimmer Mist applied with a paint brush for a soft shimmer. The flowers have been cut with my new PaperArtsy dies ;).
Please, join us for this challenge but before you do, check out what other DT girls have prepared for inspiration!
Hope you are having a lovely weekend.... I'm off to look for first signs of spring! Have you seen any yet?
Thank you for visiting and your sweet comments ;).

Wonderful art as usual. Is the honeycomb a stamp?
Spring is definitely here, as I look out of my window at the brick backs of other houses, there's a huge burst of yellow Forsythia glowing in the sun :)
This is fabulous Joanna, I love how you have recycled so many bits and pieces and you have used a bee, one of my favourites.
Glad you are feeling a bit better now.
Hope you are having a good weekend.

Hi Joanna. We are lucky here near Oxford we are having lovely mild weather but in Scotland they are having fresh snow. I would swap though!!
