The voice of the sea - Fashionable Stamping Challenges #19

Hello Friends!

I hope you're having a fabulous Easter weekend! I meant to post this yesterday but my scheduling didn't quite work lol ;-p.

The new challenge theme at Fashionable Stamping Challenges is all things nautical ;). As always we are sponsored by our lovely Marina from Cottage Crafts. Please visit her store to show your support to our wonderful sponsor ;).

As my DT sample I used a Tim Holtz configurations box which I decorated a few weeks ago as a pressie for one special Birthday Boy. You can see a card I made for him to go with the pressie here.

The Birthday Boy is known for his many talents and passions and I tried to incorporate them all in this shadow box ;).

Our Birthday Boy lives in a charming sea side town. I remember the first time I visited this place, golden summer sun rays were shimmering on the water and the sea was the purest shade of blue I have ever seen! This place is known for its magnificent chalk cliffs... does anyone know what place it is? ;).

To illustrate the magic of this place I dedicated a section in my shadow box and filled it with sea shells, pebbles, strings, cloths, nautical sentiments (Crafty Individuals) and papers.

As I mentioned, our Special Artist has many talents and painting is one of them. The nautical theme often features in his beautiful art and I tried to capture this in the "Art Section", creating a canvas with an image of one of the sea side paintings (that we are proud to have in our living room).

The Art theme also carries onto the paint pots and stamped paint splodges and art sentiments. Other sections in the shadow box illustrate the Birthday Boy's passion for music, writing and playing scrabble ;-).

The Art letters were created using a Tim Holtz distressed grunge paper technique I learnt from the Duke himself during ArtsyCrafts last year ;).

The papers I used are by Tim Holtz, K&Co and Polka Doodles. The Art compartment has been decorated with fabric ;).

Don't forget that we are a traditional stamping fans and we need to be able to see stamping on your creation. And make sure to check the outstanding DT creations from the rest of the Fashionettes as the catwalk is full of super gorgeous makes!

Well, that's all from me for now! Back to Easter celebrations! Thank you for visiting and your sweetest comments ;).

Big hugs
