Downton Abbey and hot July sneak peeks

Well, hello! I know, I know, it's been a while since my last post and I apologise sincerely for that... I've been so manically busy and struggling with various issues that some things just had to give :(. But I hope I can now come back to regular blogging, admiring your beautiful projects and seeing what you've all been up to!

I also couldn't miss the opportunity to give you all a shout out about the new July release from Stampendous which you guys are really going to love!

If you are one of those super lucky souls to attend this year's  CHA’s Create-n-Connect in Las Vegas (oh how jealous am I???) look out for the booth #1254 to see all these beauties close up. For those hanging onto any CHA news, updates and sneak peeks in blogland or social media places, I've got a little teaser for you - hop over HERE to see the online version of the July Catalogue. The best thing is all the goodness is probably already waiting for you in your local store and from July 20th you can also shop your heart out directly from Stampendous website!

Today I would like to share an Anniversary Card for my Dearest Hubster :). Yesterday we celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary and we had a very special treat that day (more about that later!).

My card features the following stamps from the new release - Perfectly Clear Leaves & Trees set (SSC1176) and Cling Jumbo Leaves (CRS5052). My hubby loves nature and everywhere we go he always comments on how lovely the summer grasses and wheat fields look... I thought this card would be quite in fitting with our Summer Wedding anniversary.

Ages ago I was given this lovely 'back to nature' card which I kept. It was waiting in my stash for a 'facelift' and this year the inspiration finally came.

I wanted to blend the main panel into the background which I created by stamping the Leaves and Trees images into tissue paper and adhering them to the card.

Next I did some colouring with distress inks and my new Distress Markers, added some texture paste through stencils and misted it all with Glimmer Mists. Then I stamped a couple of jumbo leaves onto water colour paper, coloured them in, cut them out and arranged onto the card with Prima and Petaloo flowers.

The 'happy anniversary' sentiment banner was stamped with the Tiny Alphabet clear stamps.

I hope you enjoyed this little Friday sneak peek and be sure to check out the other sneak peeks my DT Sisters have shared with you today:

If you've missed the sneak peeks from earlier this week, you can find them all on Stampendous blog.

Now onto the treat I mentioned earlier.... we were very lucky and excited to celebrate our anniversary in Highclere Castle. OK, if this name does not sound familiar, how about Downton Abbey? Yes, that's right! Highclere Castle is home to the popular TV drama Downton Abbey and Lady and Lord Granthon's family! :). I must confess, we are big fans of Downton Abbey and it was really amazing to visit the castle in person. As it happens, the 4th season finished filming in the castle a week ago - I sooooo cannot wait for the next series!

Have you ever visited a place that was featured in a movie/TV drama? I'd love to know! :)

Well, that's all from me for now and I look forward to visiting your blogs over the next few days. Have a lovely and sunny weekend!

Big hugs

And i live in " Hollywood North" (aka Vancouver) and all around me there are movies and tv shows being shot constantly. I have to admit to being star-struck and a little giddy every time it happens. Just today my hubby and I ate at the diner featured in The Butterfly Effect!

Your card makeover is gorgeous! I wish I could incorporate all those techniques into one project!

It is fun to visit places from movies and TV shows we've seen. I've been fortunate to be able to visit several different places where they filmed some of my favorite TV shows or movies. One of my favorites was the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island in Michigan where they did at least some of the filming of the movie "Somewhere in Time". The island is such an interesting place and the hotel and grounds are gorgeous.

I did visit where Steel Magnolias (the movie w/Julia Roberts) was filmed in central Louisiana. It was fascinating to see all of the homes and places used in the movie. Thanks for sharing your pictures. :)
