I ♥ Christmas! Handmade Clay Hearts Recipe

Hello blogging friends! So lovely to see you here today. I've been a bit MIA lately as life again got in the way of crafty blogging. But I hope you are all well!

Today I am sharing a quick and easy Christmas gifts project - clay Christmas tree ornaments. I ♥ Christmas - that's what this post is all about :). And I will also do some cooking today, too!

You will be glad to know that this month's blog challenge at Stampendous is all about handmade Christmas gifts. Make sure to join the challenge for a chance to win some great goodies! (NB. winner needs to have a US mailing address).

Before I tell you about my project I would first like to announce to announce the winner of my surprise gift from the question I asked in my Move Night layout post. The correct answer was 62 DODZ in total :).

The winner will receive a fabulous set of House-Mouse Designs® rubber stamps from Stampendous :). Without further ado the winner is...

Katie

Katie's guess of 50 DODZ was the closest :). Katie, please email me your address and the stamps will be on their way shortly!

Now on to my project. These clay heart ornaments were on my mind ever since I saw the Sweater Square stamp in my DT package and I was itching to play! And I was really excited to see a similar project with wooden hearts in the recent Craft Stamper magazine. This stamp has such a great design - I cannot imagine ever getting tired of it :).

I made a generous batch of clay hearts in two designs using Stampendous cling Sweater Square stamp and a holy branch from the Jumbo Cardinals set. I also used the STAEDTLER® FIMO®air microwave clay in white, a heart shaped cookie cutter and a small rolling pin.

To cure the hearts I cooked them in the microwave :). I will soon share a full tutorial on Stampendous blog, but for now, here's a recipe card for safe keeping!

And here's a piccie of my kitty Kropek (not)helping during the manufacturing process lol.

When I was finished decorating the hearts, I added sparkly treads for hanging onto a tree and popped them in festive goodie bags along with some sweets.

I also added some simple matching gift tags decorated with sparkly snowflakes (Crystal Micro Glitter sprinkled over the 3D Foam Snowflakes from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L).

This was a really easy and enjoyable 'cooking' process - and I'm lovin' the fact that these delicious hearts are totally fat free! :).

Hope you have a wonderful week!

Big crafty hugs
