And here is the project I'm sharing today :).

I really wanted to use my Rose Bloom stamp again (one of my favourites) but I also wanted to make something different, something I've never tried before. So I used my stamp to create a mould for a truly dimensional impression :).

When my mould putty was set I prepared a batch of ICE Resin and added a couple of drops of Cadmium Red to the mixture and made a first pour. When the first layer was fully cured I added a second batch of resin (it was quite tricky to manage any over-spill) and this time added some Cadmium Yellow. Now I needed a 'platform' for my resin rose...

If you are a new visitor to my blog, this year I made a crafty resolution to finish projects I began ages ago and never completed. I had a mixed media canvas I started years ago during a workshop and although I loved the background, I couldn't find a muse/theme/reason/inspiration/mojo to finish it. So I decided to go back to it as my 'starting point' and see where paint and stamps would take me lol.

I started with layers of texture. First I randomly stamped Rose Bloom with Buttermilk paint, then added pieces of torn book pages and packaging bubbly off-cuts with Adhesive Sheets and  I added some 3D DODZ.

Next I started layering watered down washes of colours, deep reds, pinks, oranges, blues and greens - all continuously softened with touches of white. I also added some more stamping with paints to the sides (NK Studio Grunge, Jumbo Magnolia).

For my collage I used die cut cardboard pieces (Prima/Sizzix), chipboard shapes (ScrapFX) and resin and metal flowers, all covered with layers of paint, softened with white. I also added some cheese cloth decorated with 3D Foam Squares covered in Rose and Mint Color Fragments.

For my final touch I added a sentiment (Friendship Assortment Perfectly Clear) stamped with black StazOn.

So there you have it, nice summery flower canvas :). OK. Ready for your trip around the world? Pack your bags, get a cup of coffee and a kitten (or a puppy, or a hubby - whoever is to hand!), and get comfy. You have until the end of Sunday, June 29 PDT to comment on all the blog posts.
